 History

Idyllwild holds a rich Native American history, primarily associated with the Cahuilla people who inhabited the region for thousands of years. The Cahuilla are one of the indigenous tribes of Southern California and have a deep connection to the land that encompasses Idyllwild.  Today, the Cahuilla people maintain a presence in the region and work to preserve their cultural traditions and protect the land that holds significant historical and spiritual value.
